Information you provide
We collect the information needed to create and operate your account, including your email address, username, display name, profile details, manually entered location, avatar, posts, photos, videos, comments, messages, event activity, collaboration proposals, reports, and other content you choose to submit.
Information created when you use Plain
Plain records account and product activity such as follows, connections, lists, bookmarks, searches, discovery interactions, notification preferences, sessions, usage intervals, and content-management actions. We also process device and app identifiers needed for security and push notifications, including a Firebase installation or messaging token, device model, operating system, app version, language, and time zone.
How we use information
- Provide, secure, and improve Plain.
- Authenticate accounts and deliver service or security messages.
- Show feeds, recommendations, profiles, events, messages, and collaboration tools.
- Enforce community rules, investigate reports, prevent abuse, and protect users.
- Respond to support, export, correction, and deletion requests.
Sharing and service providers
We share information only as needed to operate the service, comply with law, protect people, or complete a transaction you request. Service providers may include infrastructure, database, email, and push-notification vendors. Plain uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to route push notifications. Public profile information and content are visible according to the audience you choose. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.
Retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for security, legal, fraud-prevention, and operational purposes. You can export your account data and request deletion from Settings → Account and data. Deletion may retain limited records where legally required or necessary to protect the service.
Your choices
You can edit profile information, control notification categories, manage sessions, block or mute accounts, report content, export account data, and delete your account in the app. iOS settings control system notification and calendar permissions.
Children
Plain is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where service providers operate.
